Pool Bag Essentials
You’ll want a well thought out pool bag to make your time at the pool and in the dressing room as convenient and hassle free as possible.
Pool Bag:
Beach size towel – You can use your towel for cover up to and from the pool. Temperatures in and out of the pool vary, and you want to stay warm to prevent illness.
Bathing suit – A plastic baggy is also handy to store your suit in while it is wet. Always rinse out your suit after use and never machine wash if you want it to last. Bring an extra suit as well; you can avoid missing a workout entirely if you notice your swimsuit has torn at the seam.
Equipment – Owning your own means not having to share worn out equipment with other patrons. However, some pools maintain a well kept equipment stock to save you from buying carrying your own.
Non-breakable containers – These are good to transport soap, shampoo, and lotion, with your name on them.
Baking Soda – Using baking soda at the pool shower is useful in preventing dry skin. You can sprinkle it on a net scrubber or mix it with water and pour it over yourself.
Flip-flops, thongs, or water walking shoes – Pool decks are hard on tender feet; you also want to prevent athlete’s foot.
Ear and eye drops – Especially if you are prone to swimmer’s ear or have sensitive eyes. I like Witch Hazel drops for preventing swimmer’s ear.
Padlock or Quarters – for “baskets” or lockers. Never leave valuables out in the open.
Water bottle – Water exercise can dehydrate the body just as much as any other kind of exercise. Keep it on the pool deck and remember to drink.
Snack – A healthy post-workout snack will help curb your appetite until the next meal.
